Description

This class is for people who come from outside the UK, who speak and understand English well, but who did not learn to write in their first language. You will learn to read and write your name and address and complete application forms. You will learn to read and write in English and improve your spoken English skills.  

Course Summary:
This class is for people who come from outside the UK, who speak and understand English well, but who did not learn to write in their first language. Eligibility:
Learners must be over 19 on the 31st August of the academic year they start their learning. If not ordinarily resident in UK for 3 years please speak to a member of staff to confirm eligibility for funding.

How will the course be taught?
This course is delivered by a professionally qualified tutor. There will be a mixture of group, paired and individual work. You will also receive homework tasks each week.

How will I know how well I am doing?
You will receive written feedback in your learning log each week along with having your work marked and verbal feedback during the sessions.

Prior Knowledge:
This class is for people who write no English at all/only a few words/letters who need to learn to write in English, but whom do have an understanding of some spoken English. You will complete an assessment at the start of the course to find out what level you are currently working towards.

What do I need to bring?
Bring yourself. It is a good idea to bring a notepad, ring binder and pens.

Cost:
This course is free to those on benefits/low income. You will need to bring proof of benefits and your status in the UK
