In this class you will learn to speak English. It is a 3rd English class for people who come from outside the UK and speak very little English/only a few words. You will practise speaking and listening to friends and other people in your life, learning: talking to neighbours, going to the doctor, shopping, free time, travel and transport
Course Summary:
In this class you will learn to speak English. It is a 3rd English class for people who come from outside the UK and speak very little English/only a few words. You will practise speaking and listening to friends and other people in your life, learning: talking to neighbours, going to the doctor, shopping, free time, travel and transport
Eligibility:
Learners must be over 19 on the 1st August of the academic year they start their learning. Note: if not ordinarily resident in UK for 3 years (Please speak to a member of staff to confirm eligibility for funding).
How will the course be taught?
This course is delivered by a professionally qualified tutor. There will be a mixture of group, paired and individual work. You will also receive homework tasks each week.
How will I know how well I am doing?
You will receive written feedback in your learning log each week along with having your work marked and verbal feedback during the sessions.
Prior Knowledge:
This course is for people who have successfully completed our Language For Work course . You will do an assessment at the start of the course to find out what level you are currently working towards.
What do I need to bring?
Bring yourself. It is a good idea to bring a notepad, ring binder and pens.

This course is free to those on benefits/low income . You will need to bring proof of benefits/low income. There is a fee for others.
