Course Summary:
This course is designed for parents who would like to build their knowledge of English including how to write and read in English. It will give you the confidence to support your child with their learning. You will practice English speaking and listening, reading and writing skills.The class is for people who speak and write very little English, or who did not learn to write in their first language.

Eligibility:
Learners must be over 19 on the 31st August of the academic year they start their learning. Note: if not ordinarily resident in UK for 3 years please speak to a member of staff to confirm eligibility for funding.

How will the course be taught?
This course is delivered by a professionally qualified tutor. There will be a mixture of group, paired and individual work.

How will I know how well I am doing?
You will receive written feedback in your learning log each week along with having your work marked and verbal feedback during the sessions.

Prior Knowledge:
This class is for people who speak or write no English at all/only a few words/letters who need to learn to speak and write in English.

What do I need to bring?
Bring yourself. It is a good idea to bring a notepad, ring binder and pens.
